Norman Smith

As part of the mechanical and electrical team, Norman’s particular focus is on patents, although he also has considerable experience in design issues. Norman’s background in physics means that he has worked with clients in a number of different industries over the years. He has recently worked with clients in the areas of packaging, sensors and laboratory equipment.

Norman has extensive experience representing clients before the European Patent Office. His detailed knowledge of European patent law and procedure enables him to assist his clients in obtaining effective patent protection.

Working primarily alongside Michael Williams and Tom Faulkner, Norman is able to provide clients with pragmatic and focused advice. Clients like his solid technical and legal understanding, his ability to quickly understand new ideas and to convey complex ideas in an understandable way.
