Jonathan Clegg

Jonathan’s considerable experience of working with a diverse range of clients enables him to bring commercial astuteness and clarity to the trade mark advice he provides, allowing clients to develop the best strategies for their businesses.

Qualified attorneys Louise Westbury and Andrew Clemson work with Jonathan to match clients' specific needs, dovetailing where necessary to deliver the best advice in line with their respective skills.

Jonathan enjoys the management of all kinds of trade mark portfolios and has a great deal of experience in developing and maintaining commercially appropriate opposition strategies and in negotiating agreements. Keeping an educated eye on the evolution of his clients’ portfolios and ensuring their commercial relevance are also roles he values.

In many cases, Jonathan’s relationships with clients have developed over many years, and as a result, he is able to deliver sophisticated advice with commercial insight. His clients particularly like his thoughtful approach and his grounded and pragmatic style.

Jonathan was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys in 2002 and is also involved in various complementary professional activities:

  • Contributing author, Kluwer’s Concise European Trade Mark and Design Law
  • Regular speaker and active committee member for INTA
  • Regular speaker for WIPO
